Honoring Our American Military Book and CD Package

Instill A Feeling Of

Pride That Will Last A Lifetime

Our American military is engaged in a prolonged battle against terrorism.  Unlike past wars, the enemy does not wear uniforms and often are not declared combatants.  Nor are boundaries or borders recognized, whether the conflict is in Iraq, Afghanistan, the United States, or elsewhere.  These factors increase the difficulty, the danger, the tension, and the need for courage and sacrifice.

The book expresses America’s gratitude for being ready to defend our Country.  The CD consists of 14 great songs with clearly worded, inspirational messages that support the objectives of the book.

But the book objective goes much further.  It is an expression of America’s gratitude.

Testimonials by officers of dedicated troop supporting organizations.

“The book is wonderful.  Whether in the war zone, recovering at the hospital, or safely back home, this book is something service members, their family and friends will appreciate as a physical reminder of how much they are loved and supported.”

“HONORING YOU is a great little book to let our troops know we value everything they do for our country.”

and these words address a key issue:

“Often in the midst of war the fighter may feel alone and forgotten.  It is up to those who are the benefactors of their sacrifice to remind them at every opportunity that they are much loved and deeply appreciated.  HONORING YOU, Our American Military is an excellent way to say ‘thank you’ in a personal way and bring encouragement to the front where it may lift the heart.”

Part 1

The first and foremost objective is to show appreciation and gratitude for standing ready to defend America.

A quote from American history:

The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their country.” - George Washington

It contains numerous expressions of appreciation ranging from young children’s drawings

to statements from adults such as

“Thank you for so selflessly putting your life on hold and on the line for America.  You and your families are heroes.”

There are also inspirational words by leaders from American and world history such as:

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”- Martin Luther King

The second section of the book serves as a photo album.

It includes10 pocketed sheet protectors that can be used to insert letters, photos, notes from friends and neighbors, artwork, mementos and memorabilia.

Next is the journal section

This is intended for thoughts and musings. This section can be used by the soldier to record or document an event, along with statements by friends or officers, similar to a high school or college yearbook. Decades later, this may turn out to be a cherished memory source.

“ HONORING YOU is a  very well designed book to assist and inspire the American soldier.  I served active duty for 21 years and this compilation would have helped tremendously while on deployment.”

Last is the postcard section containing 16 perforated postcards for sending notes to friends and family back home without a charge for postage.

We believe this statement on the back cover, followed by the words of this veteran of Vietnam is a fair summary.

We believe in this great nation

And

We believe in you

HONORING YOU, Our American Military is NOT just a book. It is a beautiful, unique and valuable concept…a very much needed gift of love, support and honor…given to those who serve by those who love them.  Many of us still remember with disgust, how America disrespected our troops during the Vietnam War. LET US VOW NEVER TO ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN. HONORING YOU, Our American Military is just what they need.”

The last comment relates to the components and the book structure.

“The book contains 138 perfectly printed 5 3/8 x 8 3/8 full-color pages on 100 lb coated stock.  The postcards, cover and section dividers are on even more substantial stock.  The 10 pocketed sheet protectors are made of 3.5mm polyethylene material.  It is all held together by sturdy coil binding.  From a print production viewpoint, considering the quality, components and price, this is an excellent value”

Printing Consultant

But It’s More Than Just A Book

And that’s just a brief overview of what is included in this book. There’s much more that will inspire and encourage our deployed heroes. In addition to the book, there is also a CD consisting of 14 inspiring songs from very talented songwriters and artists alike.

Please be sure to learn more about the songs and the artists themselves by visiting the CD Artists page. You’ll also be able to hear a sample of each individual song as well.

All the components of this purchase are 100% USA manufactured.

The Silent Unspoken Benefit

Entering your web browser with terms such as suicides in the military or military suicides will produce a number of articles and reports containing data in support of this very disturbing information.

1) That suicide rates among U.S. military personnel have increased steadily since 2001.

2) That in the past two years, more members of the military deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan died by suicide than died in combat.

3) And percentagewise, the number of deaths by suicide among active duty military members exceeded the percentage of suicides among the general population.  This figure is even more appalling when considering the fact that military suicides tend to be on their first deployment, therefore younger than suicidal victims of the general population.

4) Another article focused on the commendable effort of Army Vice Chief of Staff, Peter Chiarelli, who has vociferously stressed the urgency of dealing with the problem.

5) Yet despite the increased research, counseling, medication and associated expenses, no significant procedure, technique or action has been shown to improve upon the problem.

This book and CD package contains only uplifting quotations and inspirational words and thoughts.  It is also a keepsake for pleasant thoughts and memories.  It contains no political theme, or plot, or discovery, and certainly nothing about suicide.  However, it does convey two very clear messages to the deployed trooper.  The first is praise for dedication and heroism in standing ready to defend our country, and second, it expresses America’s gratitude for their bravery.  Is it possible that the unspoken benefit of these messages will enhance self-esteem and as an added benefit reduce the suicide rate?

Says the Planning and Accreditation Director of the American Association of Suicidology about the Honoring Our Military package, “It promotes a positive feeling that should be helpful in reducing the likelihood of suicide.”  Karen Kanefield.

“I think it’s a wonderful idea.  May God help our servicemen as they stand for us all over the world and for freedom.”  Richard Glickstein, President, National Bible Institute.

Kevin Caruso, founder, director and editor-in-chief of Suicide.org in his publication, How To Help a Suicidal Person, makes a supporting point with this statement, “Remember that if you are serving in the military, you are a hero.”
